Lisa E. Bailey is a Registered Landscape Architect in Massachusetts, a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and owner of BayLeaf Studio in Maynard, MA. She is experienced in the design of public parks and school facilities, playgrounds, urban streetscapes, historic renovation, and residential and low-income housing. Her experience includes master plans, presentation drawings, complete construction packages, as well as construction administration and project management.
Lisa’s special interest is in healing gardens, a topic she lectures and provides workshops on. She has worked extensively on the design of Japanese Gardens and sacred and spiritual spaces. Lisa specializes in creating restorative gardens for the body, mind and spirit. She is currently working with the Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA, to create a master plan for their facility which provides support for women with breast cancer and their families.
Lisa enjoys community involvement and has served on the Maynard Conservation Commission as well as the design review committee for streetscape renovations in Maynard. She has received grants for greenspace trail work on the Assabet River Rail Trail, and for a labyrinth on the lawn at Artspace where her studio is located.
Lisa enjoys gardening and bicycling. She has ridden in the Pan Mass Challenge and raised over $6,000 for the Jimmy Fund. She also enjoys transformational growth work and has completed much of the curriculum at Landmark Education. Lisa’s family includes two children. Ian is studying at the Stockbridge School at UMass, Amherst, and Suzanna attends Nashoba Regional High School and enjoys dance.
